Waldemar Karwowski has been specializing in decorative painting and historical restoration since 1980. Originally from Europe, Waldemar immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1987. He attended the Old Lyme Art Academy where he was a part time student for five years and spent one year studying decorative painting at the "ipedec" institute in Paris, France. As an artist he specializes in decorative painting and historical restoration in both the United States and in Europe. Some of his most notable accomplishments are: the restoration of the sanctuary at Our Lady of Fatima in, Fatima, Portugal, his work as one of restoration artists who worked on the interior restoration of Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, and his restoration of the entire interior of Saint Stanislaus' church in New Haven, CT. 

Waldemar has recently joined the restoration team at The New England Carousel Museum. In July of 2002 he began the first step in an intensive face lift of the 88-year-old Bushnell Park Carousel in downtown Hartford. Waldemar began the process of sanding, filling, painting and gold leafing the rounding boards, shields and the center core structure of the carousel. This past summer's initial project was the introduction to a full restoration of the Bushnell Park Carousel.

Waldemar works on private and public commissions including homes, churches, and public buildings. He recently completed a commission by the Bushnell Theatre in Hartford, CT. In addition to his restoration work, Waldemar works on creative new designs in decorative painting and faux finish techniques.

Urodzony w Polsce, w Stanach Zjednoczonych mieszka od roku 1999. Dyplom ukończenia PWSP w Łodzi otrzymał w 1981 roku. Maluje zarówno w oleju jak i akrylu. Prace Zbigniewa wystawiane były w Polsce, Niemczech w 1992 (Bad Berlburg), Wielkiej Brytani, Francji, Austrii, Włoszech, Kanadzie i Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki. "Każdy mój obraz jest inspirowany przez moje własne przeżycia. Przy pomocy sztuki staram się wyraźić moją wizję rzeczywistości w jej własnej odcieniach. By przenieść je na płutno stosuję różnorakie style i techniki. Tematami moich prac są pejzaże, konie, kwiaty, portrety a także obrazy zainpirowane modernizmem.

Earned a diploma from PWSP in Lodz Poland in 1981. Paints in both oils and acrylic.
Several of Zbigniew's paintings and artwork have been exhibited in Poland, Bad Berleburg Germany in 1992 and in the United States in 2005 and 2006. His art has been purchased by private clients from Germany, England, France, Austria, Italy, Canada and the United States. "Each painting I do is inspired by my own individual life experiences. I try to represent through art, my vision in its own light.   To bring my artistic inspiration and vision to canvas I use various styles and techniques."
My works include portraits, landscapes, horses and flowers. As well as modern inspired painting.

"Ten gość pięknie maluje ale gdybym ci powiedział czym sie zajmuje na codzień to by nie uwierzył - asfaltuje drogi". Były to słowa skierowane do mnie przez znanego w naszym polonijnym środowisku artysty malarza - Zbyszka Sokołowskiego. Zestawienie tych dwóch rzeczy - pędzel malarski i asfalt - wydało mi się tak nieprawdopodobne że zaintrygowało mnie to bardzo i zapragnąłem poznać tego "gościa" tym bardziej, że słowa wypowiedziane przez uznanego plastyka maja swoja wagę. Mineło trochę czasu i w nawale codziennych zajęć nie było możliwe zaspokojenie mojej ciekawości aż któregoś dnia na jednym z pierwszych spotkań organizacyjnych dorocznej Wystawy Stowarzyszenia Artystów Polskich w Connecticut pojawił się nowy nikomu nie znany artysta. "To jest ten gość o którym ci mówiłem" powiedział Zbyszek. "Gość" siedział na uboczu i niewiele się odzywał, jakby speszony i lekko zagubiony wśród nowych nie znanych mu ludzi. Gdy spotkanie dobiegło końca podszedłem do "gościa" by nawiązać rozmowę i usłyszałem - jestem Janek Szewczyk, słyszałem wiele dobrego o twoich obrazach od Zbyszka. "Nie, to ja słyszałem o twoich obrazach od Zbyszka" odpowiedziałem i uścisnołem jego wyciągniętą dłoń. W tym momencie uzmysłowiłem sobie ze Zbyszek nie przesądzał mówiąc o ciężkiej pracy "gościa". Właśnie ściskałem dłoń twardą jak kamień. Dłoń wyrobiona tonami asfaltu przerzucanymi każdego dnia. Dłoń daleka od tego co mógłbym nazwać dłonią artysty plastyka.
Tak zaczęła się nasza znajomość i koleżeństwo. W ciągu krótkiej rozmowy dowiedziałem się jeszcze, że Janek pochodzi z bliskich mojemu sercu okolic - Limanowej - i maluje bardziej aktywnie od trzech lat. Momentem przełomowym stal się u niego program oglądany w telewizji gdzie znany malarz Bob Ross pokazywał i uczył malowania.
Niestety nie mogłem w ten dzień odwiedzić Janka i doświadczyć jego sztuki. Stało się to tydzień później po następnym roboczym spotkaniu Stowarzyszenia. Idąc schodami do góry do mieszkania Janka nie wiedziałem, że właśnie czeka mnie przygoda. Przekraczając próg mieszkania znalazłem się w innym świecie. Otoczyły mnie niemalże baśniowe pejzaże. Poczułem się jakbym znów powrócił do czasów młodzieńczych kiedy z zapartym tchem zachłystywałem się baśniami Andersena. Znajdowałem się w pomieszczeniu pełnym odległych gór, nieprzebytych gąszczów leśnych, wodospadów i  wspaniałych drzew a wszystko to otacza woda odbijająca niesamowicie kolorowe a czasami tajemnicze pejzaże. Przechodząc po pokojach od obrazu do obrazu mogłem poczuć się jak w upalny dzień na plaży lub mroźny poranek w szczerym polu. Wszystko to dopełniały kwiaty które jak piękne łabędzie snuły się po rozlewiskach ścian tej oazy sztuki. Poczułem jak z tych ścian emanuje spokój, wyciszenie, refleksja i pozytywna aura. W obliczu tych przeżyć przyszły mi do głowy słowa wypowiedziane przez Andrzeja Sikorowskiego w jednej z jego piosenek - "znika problem jak się nie dać i pytanie z kim się bić"..

Beata Trefon urodziła się w Kędzierzynie- Koźlu (woj.ślaskie) w 1966 roku. Jest absolwentką Liceum Plastycznego w Opolu i Studium Plastycznego w Nysie. Wyższe studia ukończyła na wydziale Ceramiki i Szkła Akademi Sztuk Pięknych we Wrocławiu. Dyplom ze szkła pod kierunkiem prof. Henryka Wilkowskiego, aneks z malarstwa pod kierunkiem prof. Stanisława Kortyki. Od 1998 roku mieszka i pracuje w Plainville, Connecticut, USA. Brała udział w warsztatach szkła w The Corning Center of Glass , Corning NY ,oraz Farmington Valley Arts Center,Avon CT. Jest członkiem The Art League of Plainville, The Art League of New Britain,CT oraz Polish Sociaty of Art.

Beata Trefon pracuje przede wszystkim w szkle. Używając różnych metod obróbki tego materiału tworzy oryginalne kompozycje ścienne. Jak sama mówi: „ Szkło jest szczególnym materiałem wystarczy coś w nim zasugerować a światło dokończy dzieła.” Cała Jej twórczość wydaje się być takim poszukiwaniem, czy może wędrowaniem w obszarze światła i mroku. Badaniem jego wpływu na barwę i formę oraz tworzeniem przy jego pomocy klimatu i nastroju prac. „Światło przenika moje obrazy, światło przenika przez moje szkło – twierdzi. - To ono jest prawdziwym twórcą, tworzy nastroje moich prac. Światło i mrok, spokój i siła barwy, łagodność i nerwowość kreski, wszystko się miesza tworząc nastroje moich obrazów.”

Beata Trefon was born in 1966 in Kedzierzyn-Kozle (Silesia), Poland. She completed the School of Art in Opole, Poland, the College of Art in Nysa, Poland, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, Poland. Currently residing in Plainville, CT, Beata Trefon is a member of The Art League of Plainville Connecticut, The Art League of New Britain Connecticut, and the Polish Society of Art.

After studying ceramics and glass at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts, Beata began creating original pieces of art using various techniques and methods of processing glass in order to create her own style of work. In regards to her style she says that, “Glass is a unique material. I just make slight suggestion and light finishes my work.”

Beata states that her work is, “a search in light and darkness. It is an exploration in influence of color and form, helping create climate, mood, and spirits.” She believes that, “the light and twilight, the peace and power of color, and the softness and nervousness of lines” help create an atmosphere for her work, saying that “light penetrates my paintings, light penetrates my glass, light is the true creator of my work creating a unique atmosphere of my pictures.”

Urodziłam się w 1981r w Kolbuszowej, na Podkarpaciu. Ukończyłam z wyróżnieniem Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych w Jarosławiu - specjalizacja wystawiennictwo. Obecnie studentka czwartego roku Uniwersytetu Sztuk Pięknych w Rzeszowie (specjalizacja główna- malarstwo w pracowni prof. Tadeusza Wiktora oraz aneks w pracowni prof. Stanisława Góreckiego). Członek Koła Artystyczno- Naukowego "Razem". Brałam udział w plenerach np. międzynarodowym plenerze w Krzyżowej,  Hównikach, Czerwonej Woli. Brałam udział w wystawach zbiorowych, też poplenerowych wraz z artystami skupionymi przy MDK w Kolbuszowej, pokazywałam grafiki w Starostwie Powiatowym (2003) , wraz z innymi studentami w  " Atmosferze" , Rzeszów. Na przełomie lutego i marca 2006 wystawiałam cykl rysunków pt. "Anioły są wśród nas". A co jeszcze mam na koncie? Przeważnie debet... Obecnie przebywam w USA , jestem członkiem  The Art League of New Britain, Connecticut oraz Polish Society of Art.

Interesuje mnie głównie człowiek i  to co jest z nim związane. Więc nie tylko ciało, układ rąk ale też pejzaż, architektura w której przebywa. Dążę do eliminacji szczegółów, które psują kompozycję i moją wizję artystyczną. Szczególną  rolę odgrywa światło i cień, które to pomagają budować mi nastrój pewnej tajemniczości. Nie boję się próbować. Swój czas ściśle przez życie limitowany, dzielę między rysunek i malarstwo oraz codzienność.

Anna Zatorska was born in 1981 in the town of Kolbuszowa, Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. She graduated the National Fine Arts High School in Jaroslaw with honors. Currently, Zatorska is a fourth year art major at the Fine Arts University of Rzeszow, studying in the studios of the esteemed Profs. Tadeusz Wiktor and Stanislaw Gorecki. Along with her studies at the University, Anna is an active member of the artistic education group “Razem.” Some noteworthy exhibits where Anna has submitted work include showcases of international en plein air art in the Polish towns of Krzyzowa, Howniki, and Czerwona Wola, and as a member of an art collective in an exhibit at the Kolbuszowa Cultural Center (Miejski Dom Kultury w Kolbuszowej). In 2003, she displayed her graphics in the Office of the Kolbuszowa County Starost and in Rzeszow’s “Atmosferze” along with other students. From late February to March of 2006, Zatorska displayed a series of her drawings entitled “Anioły są wśród nas.” (I did not include the joke because I thought that it wouldn’t have the same humorous effect in English) Today, Anna spends most of her time in the United States where she is a member of The Art League of New Britain, Connecticut and the Polish Society of Art.
In regards to her art, Zatorska focuses primarily on the human form and the places that play major roles in people’s lives such as landscapes and architecture. She aims to eliminate details in her artwork that spoil the composition of a piece and hinder her artistic vision. Light and shadow play major roles in Zatorska’s pieces, as she feels that they help set a mood of mystery within her works. She isn’t afraid of experimenting in her work, something that is made evident in her body of work. Luckily for us, Anna Zatorska is able to balance her busy schedule by dividing her time between her work and the tasks of everyday life, assuring that she will be a fixture in the art world for years to come.

My name is Tanya. I come from Belarus, Minsk, country of freedom and beatiful women. I got acquainted with art a year ago, starting with small picture of butterflies. With the time the pictures became bigger and more expressive. I love to use black india ink, watercolor and graphic techniqes. I try to bring from my memory the peple and atmosphere of the city, streets and market places, life in villages and Russian sauna. You can see the influence of Pablo Picasso in my work, whom I admire for the tremendous and genius personality. Boguslaw Wroblewski was born and raised in Poland. His educational background is in forestry and hence the interest in and love of nature, which is so evident in his photograpy. In 1961, Boguslaw emigrated to the United States where for many years he worked as a land surveyor. Upon retirement, he became increasingly involved in photography. He enjoys traveling with his camera on the country roads in the northeast corner of Connecticut and capturing the various moods created by variations in light, weather or season on the landscapes that surround us.

In his photography, Boguslaw focuses on the beauty of our natural surroundings with the objective to increase public awareness of nature and to encourage more efforts to protect the environment for our own enjoyment and that of future generations.

My name is Zofia Soto. I was born in rural Kanna, Poland but have called the United States my home since 1967.
The ability to paint and express myself as an artist has always been a dream od mine, but somehow life kept me too busy to try. I eventually started painting about seven years ago with small scale works of flowers and other still life as subject matter. Soon thereafter I pursued my new hobby even further by enrolling in classes to help its development. I am currently a student at the Farmington River School of Art in Plainville, CT.
The class displays its work annually at the Farmington Library, for which I have received several awards. I have also displayed my paintings at the New Britain Public Library.
I am a member of The Polish Society of Artists and exhibited my work at a solo show in Fabruary, 2008 at Sloper-Wesoly-House in New Britain, CT.
You will find that my paintings are simple, bright and realistic. I work in oils and watercolor.
Painting has allowed me to express thougts of all that is important in my life- family, spirituality and nature. My childhood memories of Kanna are an especially big inspiration for my work. Painting has allowed me to share myself with others but has also become
a wonderful hobby that helps me to relax and brings me joy. I hope you can enjoy it too.

Antoni Kroworz urodził się w Katowicach w 1978 roku, do Ameryki wyemigrował w 2002 roku, gdzie przebywa do tej pory. Dorastał w Gliwicach gdzie studiował i zainteresował się fotografia.
Wyższe studia ukończył na wydziale Mechanicznym Technologicznym Politechniki Śląskiej w Gliwicach. Od czasów szkolnych interesował się sztuka, aktorstwem oraz grafiką.
Miłość do fotografii narodziła się podczas okresu studenckiego, gdzie szybko stała się jego pasja oraz życiowym zamiłowaniem. W rodzinnych Gliwicach Antoni należał to słynnej Gliwickiej Grupy Fotograficznej „PRECEL”, skupiającej wielu artystów fotografików. Właśnie dzięki tej grupie nabrał nowego spojrzenia na fotografie oraz doskonalił swoje umiejętności. Dla Antoniego fotografia jest nie tylko pasja, jest jego życiem, daje mu dużo wrażliwości oraz spokoju, jak mówi sam artysta fotografia jest swoistym dokumentem tego, co przemija, piękna, chwili oraz życia. Najbardziej pasjonuje go fotografia reportażu oraz ludzi, gdzie stara się pokazać życie takim, jakim jest. Czasami piękne, barwne i wesołe a czasami szare, smutne i pełne cierpienia. Bardzo lubi grę świateł oraz cieni, jak również glebie otaczającej go rzeczywistości. Antoni poprzez swoja fotografie chce przekazać pewne wartości, treści oraz emocje. Do jego osobistych sukcesów należą trzy wygrane młodzieżowe konkursy fotograficzne w Gliwicach – „Matka natura”, „Gliwice moje miasto” oraz „Tam gdzie czas przestał płynąć”. Obecnie jest aktywnym członkiem Polskiego Stowarzyszenia Artystów w New Britain, Dużo podróżuje po USA, gdzie oczywiście fotografuje uroki tego kraju.

Anthony Kroworz was born in 1978 and emigrated to the United States in 2002 where he still resides. While growing up in Poland, Kroworz became interested in, and studied, photography. Since the days of his youth, he has been interested in art, acting and graphics.
Kroworz’s love of art was born during the days of his youth, where it quickly turned into his life’s passion and ambition. It was then that he joined a photography group which was well-known in his region and consisted of many fellow photographers. Thanks to this group, he gained a new outlook on photography and was able to perfect his skills.
For Kroworz, photography is not just a passion – it is his life. Photography affords him many feelings of sensation as well as peace. He admits that photography is a documentation of his self-discovery, of that which fleetingly passes - a beautiful moment’s glimpse at life.
Journalistic photography is what Kroworz loves best. He enjoys photographing people wherein he tries to portray life just as it is – sometimes beautiful, colorful and happy, yet other times gray, sad and filled with pain.
While photographing, Kroworz likes to play with the visualization that lighting and shadows can provide as well as the depths of his surrounding reality. Through his photography, he desires to express certain values as well as substance and emotion.
The winning of three photography contests in Poland during his youth can be added to the list of successes attained by Kroworz. These photographic winnings are entitled: “Mother Nature,” “Gliwice – My City,” and “There Where Time Has Stopped.”
He is currently an active member of the Polish Artists Society in New Britain. He also enjoys traveling a great deal throughout the United States, where naturally he photographs the charming views of this country.
